sweet escape

Assalamualaikum.

Do you know that I loved poem?
Ok now I'm gonna tell you.
I LOVE POEM. :P
I love quoting poems, as much as I love quoting movie lines.
I write my own sometimes,
but no, it doesn't make me a poet,
not to the people,
or at least if I were, it would be only to myself.
Besides Mathematics, my favorite class in high school is English.
Thank God that they started the literature subject during my year of studies.
Some may felt it as a burden, but I pretty much enjoyed it.
Singing in the class, creating poems, understanding the meaning behind all those lines and stanza.
I call it sweet escape.
Coz in some way, I got to be someone I'm never gonna be in the reality. :)
In poem, I'm not myself.

One Hundred Love Sonnets: XVII

BY PABLO NERUDA

TRANSLATED BY MARK EISNER

I don’t love you as if you were a rose of salt, topaz,
or arrow of carnations that propagate fire:
I love you as one loves certain obscure things,
secretly, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that doesn’t bloom but carries
the light of those flowers, hidden, within itself,
and thanks to your love the tight aroma that arose
from the earth lives dimly in my body.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you directly without problems or pride:
I love you like this because I don’t know any other way to love,
except in this form in which I am not nor are you,
so close that your hand upon my chest is mine,
so close that your eyes close with my dreams.

p/s: ok i got this from Stumble. tehee.
